Men of Melchizedek provides confidential help for Catholic priests who are experiencing difficulties in their personal life and priestly ministry in accordance with the authentic teaching of the Church and of the Holy Father and his predecessors. This includes Catholic priests accused of sexual abuse.
It is true that not every priest is innocent, but it is equally true that not every priest is guilty. If a priest is guilty, but repentant and seeking our help for healing and renewal, like The Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32) who Jesus calls us to forgive, we are the first to help him in his desire to grow in holiness. If a priest is innocent, we want to be the first to come to his defense.
That would be a travesty of justice to those authentic victims who have truly experienced abuse at the hands of a greatly disturbed priest, which in a very few cases was even criminal. Rather our mission is about authentic witness and prudential support.
And they grumbled against Jesus saying,
"This man receives sinners and eats with them!"
Luke 15:2.
We accomplish our mission through our network of experts in Canon law, criminal/civil law, mental health, finance, and spirituality. Men of Melchizedek offers life-time accompaniment for the urgent needs of priests in crisis.
O Holy Mary, Mother of Priests, who with your beloved spouse Saint Joseph, during your sojourn here below, did nurture, protect and provide for the Most Sacred Divine Infant, Jesus Christ the High Priest. In remembrance of the joys, the sorrows, the sacrifices and the sufferings you endured as the Holy Family, we beg you now for your Heavenly maternal care for our beloved priests, your priest-sons O Merciful Mother, both living and deceased. With great confidence we beseech you to assist especially those priests who are the most troubled, tempted, discouraged and suffering. Intercede, too, for us, O Holy Mother, that we should not forget how our father Abraham reverenced Melchizedek, king of Salem and priest of God Most-High, even giving to him a tenth of all he had. With Abraham as our example, let us give constant thanks to God for all the good he has done for us through the hands of our dear priests, and let us never grow weary of giving assistance to all priests in their time of need. For as is sung in the Psalms, "God has sworn and He shall not repent, you are a priest forever in the line of Melchizedek!"
Amen.
